Job Description: UX/UI Developer (Contract)
Location: Remote, US-based (must be authorized to work in the United States)
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor / W2 Contract
Industry: Banking / Financial Services
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced UX/UI Developer with a background in authentication and identity workflows to join a large, complex enterprise organization on a contract basis. You will be part of a team building a next-generation, centralized authentication platform from the ground up, owning all user-facing login and identity flows across web, Android, and iOS. This role is well-suited for someone accustomed to the governance and change management demands of a large global organization, and who understands the unique UX and security requirements of authentication surfaces. Experience in banking/financial services or other highly regulated industries is a big plus.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and build user-facing authentication components including login pages, multi-factor authentication flows, and account recovery experiences across web, Android, and iOS
• Develop and maintain SDKs and UI libraries that integrate with underlying identity vendor services (Transmit, Ping, Arcus Labs, ThreatMetrix, and others)
• Contribute to the identity Abstraction Layer, a vendor-agnostic library that decouples application teams from specific identity vendor SDKs
• Collaborate with identity architects, backend API teams, and security engineers to ensure UI implementations align with authentication protocols and security requirements
• Implement passkey and passwordless flows using FIDO2/WebAuthn standards
• Build with forward compatibility in mind to support credential consolidation across multiple products and business lines over time
• Maintain documentation for components, integration guides, and change requests in alignment with enterprise change management policies
• Support testing, accessibility compliance, and performance optimization across all platforms
Required Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience in front-end or mobile UI development
• Proficiency in React for web development; experience with React Native, native Android (Kotlin/Java), or native iOS (Swift) for mobile
• Hands-on experience building or integrating with authentication flows: login, MFA, SSO, OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, or SAML
• Familiarity with identity or authentication SDKs (any vendor: Ping, Transmit, Okta, ForgeRock, Auth0, or similar)
• Understanding of security principles as they apply to UI: token handling, session management, secure storage on mobile
• Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments at Fortune 150 scale or equivalent; exposure to regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, government) is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage deliverables with limited day-to-day supervision
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with passkeys or FIDO2/WebAuthn implementations
• Familiarity with Transmit Security or Ping Identity products
• Experience building shared UI component libraries or SDK wrapper layers
• Exposure to centralized authentication or single sign-on architecture patterns
• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards
• Prior work in financial services, online banking, or other high-stakes consumer-facing digital products is a plus
Contractor Requirements
• Must be based in the United States and authorized to work without sponsorship
• Must be able to pass a background check
